As a community publication, you could probably guess that Startland News loves its hometown.

At the core of what we do and who we are, Startland exists to highlight the creatives, makers, builders and innovators that are putting money, heart and soul into their work. That’s why we’re excited to present to you this 2017 Gift Guide comprised exclusively of products made or rooted in the Kansas City area.

We’ve broken it down into five categories to help you navigate ideas for people who appreciate locally made products. The holidays’ arrival prompted this list, but it’s a solid year-round guide for any gift-giving occasion.

The Apparel and Accessories List rounds up a smattering of clothing and jewelry gifts that might appeal to the fashionista.

From physical pursuits to educational endeavors, the Kansas City Experiences List features 10 ideas for the person that values an adventure or personal time with family and friends.

The Edibles and Drinkables List details nearly a dozen creative vittles and beverages for the person that wants to taste Kansas City.

From impressive thermometers to dog wearables, the Tech List amasses a group of locally-made gadgets and gizmos.

Last but not least, the Miscellaneous List rallies some random and fun ideas ranging from books to decor to custom artwork.
