Based in Kansas City, Kan., Rex Animal Health is participating Monday evening in TechCrunch’s Disrupt San Francisco 2016 Startup Battlefield competition for a chance at winning $50,000 and the Disrupt Cup.

Rex CEO Amado Guloy will pitch his animal health data firm Monday evening during a live presentation in San Francisco that also will be live streamed. Rex, which completed the Techstars-led Sprint Mobile Health Accelerator in 2015, will face off against 24 other startups that hail from around the world, including Austin, Brooklyn, Hong Kong, Lebanon, France and more. Finalists will compete on Wednesday.

Guloy said that he’s excited and anxious to hop on TechCrunch’s big stage.

“It’s a little nerve-wracking, having gone through about a month worth of rehearsals,” Guloy said Monday in San Francisco. “Working with the TechCrunch staff has been awesome. The quality of the other teams participating is almost intimidating but brings out the best of yourself as well.”

The startups competing today represent about 2.5 percent of those that applied for the competition, TechCrunch reported. The digital publication said that Startup Battlefield serves to showcase the most promising early-stage and “disruptive” startups in the tech industry.

There’s a wide range of firms competing in Startup Battlefield, including health, robotics, animal health, gaming, manufacturing and more. Learn more about the competition here.

Rex Animal Health collects animal health data from various sources for animal pharmaceutical companies. The information helps pharma companies develop new drugs and identify opportunities to manage chronic diseases in animals.

The company moved to Kansas City shortly after its graduation from the Techstars-led Sprint Accelerator and quickly surpassed $1 million in revenue.

Update: Tuesday 9:00 a.m. CST. As Kansas City entrepreneurs cheered him on at Up Down Arcade bar in Crossroads, Guloy pitched Monday evening at TechCrunch Startup Battlefield. Below is his presentation.
