A hub for KC’s startup gigs, Startland relaunches jobs board

April 10, 2017  |  Bobby Burch

The hamster wheel of daily work is a powerful force — especially in news.

Amid the tumult of startup life, a chance to pause, reflect and be proactive in creating a more robust organization can be rare. But some opportunities are simply too important to continue passing by.

As Startland approaches its two-year anniversary, we’ve evaluated how to be a better resource to the entrepreneurial ecosystem we serve. And as part of that soul-searching effort, we’re excited to revive a relic we’re confident will deliver value to our readers and the Kansas City community as a whole.

Please meet the new, improved Startland Jobs Board. We offered a jobs board after our launch in May of 2015, but its limitations made it a difficult resource to maintain. But thanks to a tech update and the help of partners like the Kansas City Startup Foundation and FWD/KC, this new offering should be better for you and us.

Like the rest of our work at Startland, this jobs board exists to help Kansas City’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Providing visibility for job opportunities at innovation-led businesses in the area, the jobs board aims to support startups and the people that want to work within them.

To share an opportunity in your company, here’s the “Post a Job” form. If you have questions on whether your business is suitable for this jobs board, drop us a line or check out the criteria here. This jobs board is tailored to support Kansas City’s innovation-led firms and, as you’ll see in the description, it’s not for everyone.

Related to our resource efforts, we’re thrilled to announce a partnership with KCSourceLink to host the organization’s Resource Navigator.

With the navigator, startups in the area can find dozens of resources to grow according to their needs. From finding capital and accelerators to mentor programs and legal help, this navigator is a compendium of Kansas City entrepreneurial support. Check it out — there are tons of avenues to grow through this tool!

As a reminder of other Startland resources, check out the Kansas City Startup Community Guide. Again produced in partnership with the Kansas City Startup Foundation, the guide answers the question of “How do I connect with the local startup community?” From support organizations and coworking spaces to early-stage investors and the area’s top startups, we hope it makes your exploration of the startup ecosystem as painless as possible.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments on any of the resources mentioned here. I’d love to hear your feedback on how we can provide more value.

Thanks as always for reading!
