Construction began Wednesday on a new second-story outdoor bar and patio space at Boulevard Brewing Co. — bridging the popular tourist and recreation destination to its nearby parking garage — with an early summer opening planned just in time for the world’s largest soccer tournament.
“We’ve dreamed of having our own backyard hangout at the brewery for a long time,” said Amber Ayres, director of consumer experience at Boulevard. “This second-story addition will more than triple the current Beer Hall patio space, and it will offer a great mix of downtown skyline views, patio vibes and Boulevard fun.”
Dubbed “Boulevard Yard,” the expansive space will offer an unmatched atmosphere to enjoy great beverages and company at one of Kansas City’s most iconic and historic breweries, she added.
It is expected to feature a mix of comfortable outdoor seating, epic views of the city skyline and a new indoor/outdoor bar serving a full range of Boulevard beers and beverages, Ayres said in a release. The space will also have multiple large-screen TVs for special programming or watching your favorite teams, making it an ideal hub for summer 2026 and beyond.
“With the world’s largest soccer tournament coming to Kansas City this summer, we’re excited to show off our beloved city to both locals and newcomers,” she continued. “We hope Boulevard Yard is a welcoming spot for visitors and a new favorite hangout for Kansas Citians.”
