On the agenda: What are GEW’s 10 most popular events so far? Practical workshops
November 8, 2018 | Startland News Staff
With more than 170 events planned, organizers of Global Entrepreneurship Week already are seeing registration trends from those building their weeklong agendas at GEWKC.org
Topping the most popular are GEW’s kickoff breakfast — set to explore the future in terms of emerging Latino markets, transportation and the Hyperloop, and sports technology — and Marquita Miller’s “Get Paid to Speak” session, said Sarah Mote, marketing director for KCSourceLink, a key organizer of GEW.
Practical workshops early in the week dominate the top 10 list of Nov. 12-16 events, which in most cases are being organized at Plexpod Westport Commons. Overall programming tracks include makers and creators; startups; scalers; and social enterprise.
“Global Entrepreneurship Week inspires our community’s makers, doers and creators to take the next step in starting or growing their business,” said Erin Jenkins, program officer in entrepreneurship at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, which founded GEW. “Whether you’re already your own boss, or you aspire to be, this week offers the educational tools and networking opportunities to make it your reality.”
