There are a plethora of entrepreneurial events hosted in Kansas City on a weekly basis. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, investor, supporter, or curious community member — we recommend these upcoming events for you.

Troubleshooting in Business: NAWBO Monthly Meeting
When: July 11, 7:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.

Of course Kansas City is chock full of female go-getters ready to have ideas, issues, and questions bounced right off of ’em! Be sure to make it to this month’s Trouble Shooting Round Table! Hispanic Chamber Lunch and Learn
When: July 12, 11:00 a.m. — 1:00 p.m.
Where: Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
This session is geared toward businesses and how to help them succeed. The focus is “Psychology of Selling”. This session is a detailed interaction presentation. Outlining a plan with several action steps, the attendee can immediately implement the information learned over 30 day period, tracking individual success and growth.

Summer in the Sand – Advice for Scaling Your Startup
When: July 12, 2:30 p.m. — 4:00 p.m.

Join Jill Meyer, director of ScaleUp! KC, for an informal discussion with a panel of Sandbox-funded companies that have hit major milestones. Learn from their successes and the challenges they’ve encountered as they’ve scaled.

Second Fridays
When: July 14, 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Where: Village Square Coworking
Come to Second Fridays at Village Square Coworking Studio!
Second Fridays is a casual, fun gathering for the startup community to connect on a monthly basis with no agenda except good times.
We’ll provide games & cards (bags if it’s nice). This event is BYOB with a twist – bring a 6-pack of your favorite beer to share and we’re going to have a “beer potluck” cooler. We’ll ice down everyone’s beer and have quite the selection to choose from!get to know someone over a brew!
We’d also encourage you to bring an instrument if you play. What better way to end your week than with a jam session?!
Feel free to stop by anytime after 4:30pm. We’ll hang out until everyone leaves (unless it gets ridiculous).

Competing for Government Contracts: Basic Training
When: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Where: KSBDC – Johnson County Community College
This introductory seminar is an overview of the critical first steps associated with winning government contracts. The Kansas Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) presents information on how to get started in the government contracting arena including federal, state and local government registrations and certifications. The seminar will also cover Kansas PTAC services available to assist businesses in all aspects of government contracting. Preregistration is required.

The Marketing Series: Growth Hacking 101 with Doug Allen

Kansas City Women in Technology‘s ongoing mission is to grow the number of women in technology careers in Kansas City. KCWiT is excited to introduce women to coding and technology through this Django Girls workshop. We want to give you an opportunity to learn how to program and become one of us – women programmers!
