Week of events creates startups, builds entrepreneurial community

The Kansas City entrepreneurial community is prepping for a week-long celebration of startups and entrepreneurship.
1WeekKC, which kicks off on May 29 and continues throughout the entire first week of June, will include a series of events created to empower entrepreneurs to come together, share ideas, get inspired, celebrate and connect.
A group of community leaders from KCSourceLink, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, Kansas City Startup Village and Google Fiber will manage the fourth-annual event.
The week will kick off with a chance for new or interested parties to learn more about Kansas City’s entrepreneurial community during a Rookie Luncheon at the Google Fiber Space, Friday, May 29 at 1 p.m.

Startup Weekend — Participants launch a business in 48 hour — May 29, 30
E Day at the K – A community-focused tailgate and a chance to see the Kansas City Royals play the Cleveland Indians – June 2
Sprint Accelerator Demo Day — Presentations from strartups at the Sprint Mobile Health Accelerator — June 4
Startup Waffles — Networking breakfast amongst the startup community. —June 5
The week will finish with a Crossroads Block party during First Fridays, and a KC Food Truck Face Off at the Roasterie, where attendees will taste the next generation of food truck entrepreneurs’ fare and vote to crown the 2015 KC Food Truck Rookie of the Year.
