Moblico snags six-figure investment, announces hiring plans
May 20, 2015 | Abby Tillman
Kansas City-based Moblico, a tech firm that creates software for mobile marketers, recently announced a $900,000 investment raise to hire additional staff.
The investment came from Missouri Technology Corp. and a local angel investor — both of which are second time investors in the company.
“We raised these funds to help the company grow,” Moblico CEO Pierre Barbeau said in an interview with Startland News. “[The raise] means our core business can focus on supporting our clients and growth investment can help us develop the team to grow our revenue.”
Barbeau said that some of Moblico’s growth objectives include hiring employees in both sales and marketing. Founded in 2010, Moblico provides a platform that helps mobile marketers communicate and disseminate information to their users in a targeted way. ![FF_MOBLICO_LO_N55[7][1]](/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/FF_MOBLICO_LO_N5571-300x300.jpg)
Moblico’s platform has found solid traction in the Kansas City market, with such clients as the Kansas City Star, Hen House, Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, 810 Sports Radio and DST. Other national clients include Tamron, ePay and the Wisconsin Lutheran College.
“We feel fantastic,” Barbeau said of the funding raise. “We are really excited about where we are and our prospects here in the next months. … We’ve got a lot of experience and know-how, and as the market begins to open up for services like ours, we’re in a great position to lead it.”
Barbeau credits Moblico’s success to its ability to tailor their solution to customers’ needs — being both flexible and adaptable.
“Overall we’ve been able to grow our business by focusing on the needs of our customers,” he said. “We’re here to stay,” he said. “This is going to be a Kansas City, Missouri growth story.”
